Firearms, ammo recovered in BGB raid on robbers’ den in Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered several firearms, including a foreign revolver, from a robbers’ hideout during an operation in the remote hilly forest of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district.

However, the frontier force could not detain any criminal.

According to a media release sent from the BGB-64 Battalion in the district on Wednesday, a BGB team launched the operation on Monday evening after being tipped-off about the presence of the robbers in the den in Rangikhali area under Hnila union.

Sensing the presence of BGB, the robbers managed to flee the scene, reads it.

Later, the BGB personnel recovered one foreign revolver with 21 bullets, one long-barrel single-shot gun with three cartridges and five empty shells, one LG (locally made gun), one one-shooter pistol, 14 rifle rounds, one long machete and two machetes.

A process was underway to hand over the arms and ammos to Teknaf Model Police Station, according to the release.

Efforts were underway to arrest the accused.
