At least five people were killed and three others injured after a truck ploughed into two autorickshaws on Mymensingh-Haluaghat road in Alalpur area of the city on Saturday.
The accident occurred on the highway in the Shambhuganj-Alalpur village around 11:00am, said Kotwali Model Police OC Mahmudul Islam.
The casualties could not be identified immediately, reports bsnews24.com.
Two autorickshaws were involved in a head-on collision in Alalpur village before a truck rammed into the vehicles shortly afterwards, said the OC.
Four people were killed on the spot while another died in hospital.
