Police have arrested five active members of a juvenile crime gang in the capital's Adabar area on Saturday. The arrestees are Shariful, Sri Sagar, Md Saiful, Md Rezaul and Ridhoy.
A police team of the Adabar Police Station nabbed them during a drive conducted in the Nobodoya Housing and Sunibir Housing areas.
Several cases were pending against the arrestees on charges of mugging and extortion. Legal action was taken against them.
Police have also arrested an absconding accused person in seven cases in the capital's Motijheel area. The arrestee was identified as Shuvo (30).
A police team of the Motijheel Police Station on Saturday night arrested him from the Sapla Chhatar area. Seven cases on drugs trading and mugging were pending against him. He was sent to the court.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,311 cases for traffic rules violation during a drive conducted in different areas of the capital on Saturday.
As part of the drive, authorities also dumped 95 vehicles and towed 23 others to dumping zone, said a DMP press release.
