The government is now planning to construct a flyover from Sunamganj district to Netrokona district for developing the road communication network of the haor areas.
Planning Minister MA Mannan gave the information in his address at a day-long 'Baul Utsab' at Mohanganj upazila in Netrokona district on Friday, reports BSS.
The minister also informed that the government has taken different pragmatic steps for improving the living condition of the people in haor areas at the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Mannan said the government has a plan to establish an agriculture training institute (ATI) in Netrokona to let the farmers know about the modern cultivation methods.
The 'Baul Utsab' was organised to commemorate the renowned minstrel and folk song composer Ukil Munshi.
Chaired by secretary of the prime ministers’ office Sazzadul Hasan, the function was addressed, among others, by Rebeka Mumin MP and principal of the Shaheed Smriti College Jibon Krisno Sarkar.
Independence Award recipient Professor Jatin Sarkar presented the keynote paper on Ukil Munshi for enriching the bard and folk culture in the country.
