Police have arrested former chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda from the capital’s Uttara.
Residents of the area detained him on Sunday evening and handed him over to the police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara West Police Station Md Hafizur Rahman confirmed the arrest to the media.
He will be shown arrested in a case filed with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, the OC said.
Earlier in the day, BNP lodged a case against 19 people, including former Chief Election Commissioners, EC Commissioners and other officials involved in conducting the 10th, 11th and 12th national elections, alleging irregularities and biased conduct.
