Former Jubo League leader arrested after buying nomination form in Magura

Police have arrested a former Jubo League leader of Sreepur Upazila in Magura after he collected a nomination form to contest the national elections.

Former Upazila party president Kutubullah Hossain Mia Kuti collected nomination papers from the district returning officer’s office on Monday before being arrested, Sadar Police chief Ashikur Rahman said.

Kuti collected nomination forms as an independent candidate for Magura-1 constituency. He is the chairman of Sreekol Union Parishad.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Habibur Rahman said Mia Kuti is a suspect in a case of attack and sabotage concerning the Students Against Discrimination protests.
