Four dead after bus, truck collide head-on in Gaibandha

Four people, including a child were killed and 15 other injured following a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Gaibandha’s Gobindaganj.

The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Rangpur Highway in Panthapara’s Bokchor area around 5:30am on Sunday, bdnews24 reported citing police sources.

The identities of the deceased are still being determined. The injured have been admitted to the Gobindaganj Upazila Medical Complex and Bogra’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Some of the injured are in critical condition.

The Panchagarh-bound 'BS Paribahan' bus collided with the sand-bearing truck, leaving four people, including the bus driver and a minor, dead on the spot and 15 people injured, news agency UNB reported quoting Akhteruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj highway police.

Passengers on the bus have alleged that the driver had been drowsy.
