A bus has slammed into a parked truck in Gopalganj, killing four passengers, including a policeman.

The crash on the Dhaka-Khulna highway early Saturday left another 15 people injured, police said.

Among the dead was Abdur Rashid, 45, from the Gopalganj Police Line, said local police officer Ataur Rahman.

The other casualties were identified as Bijon Hawladar, 'Russel', 22, and Komol Mondol, 24, reports bdnews24.com quoting the police.

"A rod-laden truck had parked up on the side of the highway with a punctured tyre when a Pirojpur-bound Imam Paribahan coach ploughed into the back of the stationary vehicle. Both vehicles were wrecked in the collision," said Bhanga Highway Police OC Ataur Rahman.

Three bus passengers died instantly while policeman Abdur was pronounced dead by doctors after being rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

The injured passengers were taken to Gopalganj General Hospital. Among them, two were subsequently sent to Khulna in critical condition, said OC Ataur.
