At least four people, including the pilot of the Bangladesh Air Force F-7 aircraft, were killed and more than 100 were injured after the aircraft crashed into the campus of Milestone College in the Diabari area of Dhaka's Uttara on Monday.
Pilot Flight Lieutenant Tawkir Islam Sagar died around 3:45 pm while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
Around 60 injured people were admitted to the national burn institute after the incident.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the aircraft took off at 1:06 pm and crashed minutes later.
The jet struck one of the buildings on the school campus and immediately caught fire, causing panic among students, parents, and staff.
10 units of the Fire Service are currently working at the scene, with a helicopter and two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) deployed to assist in the rescue operation.
