Another garment worker succumbed to injuries on Saturday mid-night raising the death toll to four so far from the two-week long protests in different garment belts demanding a hike in the minimum wage, according to sources.

Jalal Uddin aged 40, supervisor of a factory of Islam Group, was injured during a clash between workers and police on November 08.

Earlier, three workers died during clashes with law enforcing agencies and a fire incident at a factory, the sources added.

Meanwhile, workers of several garment factories continued demonstration at Mirpur on Sunday rejecting the government-announced Tk 12,500 minimum monthly wage and pushing for Tk 23,000 wage.

They brought out a march from Kafrul to Mirpur-10 before occupying the road around 8:30 am. Two hours later law enforcers managed to persuade them into leaving the area.
