The interim government has strongly condemned the recent attacks on Sufi shrines and other religious and cultural sites in the country and vowed to take strict legal actions against the perpetrators.
"For several days now, a group of miscreants has been attacking Sufi shrines across the country, which has come to the government's attention. The interim government strongly condemns any hateful speech or attacks targeting religious and cultural sites, including Sufi shrines," a press release from the Chief Adviser's Press Wing said on Saturday.
The release said that law enforcement agencies have been instructed to take adequate measures to protect religious and cultural sites.
Any attempt to disrupt religious or cultural tolerance and harmony will be dealt with strictly, without discrimination, the release added.
