In a meeting of the Advisory Council, a proposal to grant leave through an executive order on April 3 (Thursday) in observance of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr was approved. As a result, government employees this year will enjoy a continuous 9-day holiday.
The approval was granted on Thursday (March 20) during a meeting held at the office of the chief adviser.
The decision was made to grant the holiday on the basis of the moon sighting, with Eid-ul-Fitr expected to be celebrated on March 31 (Monday). The government holiday schedule has been determined accordingly.
According to the gazette notification, March 31 (Monday) will be a general holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr. The two days prior to Eid, March 29 and 30 (Saturday and Sunday), and the two days following Eid, April 1 and 2 (Tuesday and Wednesday), will also be government holidays under the executive order.
Additionally, March 28 (Friday) will be a regular weekly holiday.
Furthermore, April 3 (Thursday) will also be declared a government holiday through the executive order. The following two days, April 4 and 5 (Friday and Saturday), are regular weekly holidays. Consequently, government employees will be able to enjoy a continuous 9-day holiday this year.
