Govt announces progrmmes for Martyred Intellectuals Day

The government has taken elaborate programmes to observe the Martyred Intellectuals' Day on December 14 in a befitting manner.   

These programmes have been taken at an inter-ministerial meeting under the initiative of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, said an official release on Tuesday.

The president and the chief adviser will lay wreaths at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Dhaka, reports BSS. 

After that, the adviser and secretary of Liberation War Affairs will lay wreaths at the Intellectuals Memorial and the Rayer Bazar Baddyo Bhumi along with the martyred family members. 

The wreath-laying ceremony will be aired live on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, as well as on other private channels. 

Schools, colleges, madrasas and other educational institutions at the district and upazila levels will organise discussions at convenient times. 

In addition, prayers will be arranged in all mosques, temples, churches, pagodas and other places of worship in the country to seek forgiveness for the departed souls of the martyred intellectuals.
