The interim government has ordered the heads of its diplomatic missions in Agartala and Kolkata after incidents involving protests and attacks on its diplomatic facilities in India.
Head of the Deputy High Commission in Kolkata returned to Dhaka on Thursday, while the head of the Assistant High Commission in Tripura has already left for Dhaka.
Sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the heads of both the missions were ordered to return to Dhaka on Tuesday.
The Kolkata mission head arrived in Dhaka on Thursday and met with Foreign Affairs Advisor Md Touhid Hossain to discuss the situation in Kolkata, they said.
A senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Agartala mission head has already departed for Dhaka.
On Monday, supporters of Hindu nationalist groups, including the Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, attacked the Bangladesh mission in Agartala, protesting alleged minority persecution in Bangladesh.
The attackers desecrated the national flag and vandalised the mission premises.
Following the attack, Bangladesh suspended operations at the mission due to security concerns.
