State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell on Tuesday said that government is working to create employment for youth who have become jobless due to coronavirus outbreak in the country.
“It is the moral responsibility of the state to stand by their side during this crisis," said the state minister adding that Department of Youth already has taken a project to create self-employment for youth and to eradicate poverty.
Zahid Ahsan came up with the remarks from an emergency meeting of the department in its conference room, according to a handout.
Due to situation created amid coronavirus outbreak, many people returned to their village homes. Many of them may not get back their work. In this situation, they have to be made self-employed by giving loans with proper training, he added.
Besides, directives have been given to the department for taking projects to create employment quickly after the pandemic ends, reports UNB.
The department has undertaken the project ‘Creating self-employment for youth in village and poverty reduction in post coronavirus situation’ as per direction.
The meeting today was held in this regard maintaining social distance, said the state minister.
