Govt decides to restrict use of Padma Bridge design, photo in ads

The government has decided about restricting the use of the design and photo of the under-construction Padma Bridge in advertisements without prior permission from the authorities concerned.

The decision came at a recent meeting of the Bridge Division of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, with senior secretary of the division Khandker Anwarul Islam in the chair.

Some cement and iron factories have been running advertisements claiming that their products are being used in the country’s mega project.

The meeting observed that such advertisements could misguide people.

Besides, during the meeting it was decided to raise awareness among people about such advertisements.
