Amid the rising number of dengue cases in Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has fixed the fee for dengue diagnostic tests at Tk 50 in government hospitals and Tk 300 in private hospitals.
The DGHS has warned of punitive action against any institution charging more than the approved amount.
The instructions were given in a letter sent by DGHS Director (Hospital) Dr. Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan on Monday, reports bdnews24.com.
The letter said, “The prices for dengue diagnosis tests at private hospitals have been set as follows: Dengue NS1 test at Tk 300, Dengue IgG and IgM tests at Tk 300, and CBC test at Tk 400.
“Legal action will be taken against any institution found charging extra fees.”
Another letter by Moinul mentioned the test fee for dengue NS1, Dengue IgG and Dengue IgM at government hospitals has been set at Tk 50. The price list of these tests for dengue diagnosis will be valid until Dec 31.
