The Cabinet Division has issued a circular directing all government officials and employees to remain present in their respective offices from 9:00 am to 9:40 am every working day.

The directive was issued in a circular signed on Monday by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani.

According to the circular, it has been observed that in some cases officials and employees engage in official or personal activities while on their way to office, such as attending seminars, workshops, symposiums, participating as guest speakers at training institutes, or visiting banks, hospitals and schools. As a result, they often fail to be present in their offices at the scheduled time.

To ensure uninterrupted public service delivery and enhance the pace of official work, the circular mandates that all officials and employees of government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions must remain in their respective office rooms from 9:00 am to 9:40 am.

It also instructs authorities to schedule other official programmes in a way that does not disrupt this mandatory time period.
