A government official died after falling from a moving train in the Joyrampur area of Chuadanga's Jibannagar on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased, Gaffar Ali Akash, 29, son of Jinnat Ali of Senerhuda village in Jibannagar upazila, was an office assistant at the Water Development Board in Chuadanga.
The accident occurred around 5:30 pm near the Akh Centre area, close to Joyrampur railway station.
According to locals, Gaffar accidentally fell from the moving Khulna-bound Kapotaksha Express train as it was passing through Joyrampur while departing from Rajshahi. He died on the spot.
Jagadish Chandra Basu, sub-inspector of the Chuadanga Railway Police Outpost, said that the body was recovered from the scene.
"If the family has no complaints, the body will be handed over after an autopsy," he added.
