Govt provides Tk 18.2m to deceased RMG workers’ families

The Labour and Employment Ministry on Sunday donated Tk 18.2 million to assist the families of 91 deceased garment workers.

All the deceased workers were working in the garment sector under the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), reports UNB.

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian handed over the donation to BGMEA representatives at the ministry.

Another Tk 2.59 million was also provided to BGMEA, towards the payment of arrears by a factory forced to close down. The money came from the crisis fund of the ministry.
