To address delays and irregularities in recruitment, the interim government has decided to establish two separate Public Service Commissions (PSCs), Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has said.
He shared this information in a post from his verified Facebook account on Sunday.
Asif, also an adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives (LGRD) in his post, wrote that a detailed discussion on the Public Service Commission took place during the latest cabinet meeting.
Following talks on delays and irregularities in recruitment, the government has decided to establish two separate PSCs.
"Since the beginning of the protest movement, I have conveyed the students' demands to the relevant authorities. Although a meeting with a team of protestors was scheduled for last Monday, unfortunately, it did not happen. However, I have repeatedly forwarded their demands to the concerned authorities on behalf of the students," he stated.
"To address unemployment, after the police department, the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives has issued the highest number of recruitment circulars as a single ministry, and the recruitment process is ongoing," he mentioned.
At least 10,000 more appointments are expected in the coming months, the LGRD adviser further stated.
"I do not have the authority to make decisions or dictate matters regarding the PSC. However, I am doing everything within my capacity and will continue to do so, In Sha Allah," he added.
