The interim government has decided to waive tuition fees for students injured during the student-led uprising.
The Ministry of Education announced this in a notification issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division on Tuesday.
The notification also outlined the specific procedures that injured students must follow to avail of this fee waiver.
It stated that the government has decided to waive tuition fees for students from secondary to university levels (including all government and private schools, colleges, madrasas, technical institutions, and universities) who were injured during the student-led uprising in July-August 2024.
Injured students must apply to their respective institutional heads with medical certificates to avail of this benefit, the notification said.
“The decision to waive tuition fees will be effective in all educational institutions in the country, from the current stage of the injured student's academic life up to the university level. All concerned educational institutions must immediately take necessary steps to implement this decision”, it added.
