Graft case verdict against Tarique, Zubaida this afternoon; security beefed up

A Dhaka court will deliver the verdict on a graft case against Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the opposition BNP, and his wife Zubaida Rahman on Wednesday, local newspapers report.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against the couple in 2007.
According to Public Prosecutor Tapash Kumar Paul, Judge Md Asaduzzaman of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court will deliver the judgment in the duo's absence at 3:00pm today.
Security has been beefed up on the court premises centring the verdict.
On September 26, 2007, the ACC filed the case with the Kafrul Police Station against Tarique, Zubaida and Zubaida’s mother on charges of accumulating wealth worth Tk 40.8 million through illegal means and hiding information of Tk 21.6 million in their net worth statements.
