A case was filed on Sunday against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 27 others over the killing of a seller of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) products in the capital during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Mamunur Rashid, brother-in-law of victim Md Eusuf Sanowar, filed the complaint with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain. The court after recording the statement of the complainant, asked the officer in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station to accept the matter as first information report (FIR), reports BSS.
The other prominent accused in the case are- Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader and former ministers Anisul Huq and Tajul Islam.
According to the case documents, Md Eusuf Sanowar on July 20 went to the capital’s Shanir Akhra area after receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. As he reached the area, Awami League goons and police started firing at him, thinking of him as a protester.
The gunshot hit Sanowar critically and he was immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead.
