Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, has shared the details and their position on the relief aid collected in cash and kind to assist the flood victims in 11 districts, including Feni.
He shared a statement on his Facebook account with the details around 11:30pm on Saturday, reports bdnews24.com.
“On Sept 4, we shared the accounts of our TSC aid programme earnings and expenditure at a press briefing. After deducting the expenses, the rest of the amount has been deposited to the Dhaka University branches of Janata Bank, Sonali Bank, Islami Bank and in mobile banking,” Hasnat wrote in the post.
“A special bank account has been opened with a teacher of Dhaka University, a female student and a male student as joint signatories. The transactions with this account can be done only with their signatures. As of now, no transaction has been done from the account,” he wrote.
Hasnat said an audit is ongoing to ensure transparency of the aid collection. “We are doing an audit of the earnings and expenses of the relief work to ensure transparency and will publish the report within the next few days, by the grace of Allah.”
“We believe in constructive criticism. Please highlight specifics if there is any misunderstanding, so our work can be more effective. May the Bangladesh of the future be a model of transparency and accountability.”
