HC issues rule over cancellation of plot allocations to Hasina’s family
Probe committee formed to investigate the allegations

The High Court (HC) has issued a rule upon the government bodies concerned to explain as to why the allocations of 60 kathas of plots at Purbachal in the name of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members should not be cancelled.
The court has ordered the formation of a three-member committee to investigate the irregularities of plot allocations in the Capital Development Authority (Rajuk) from 2009 to 2024.
The committee, led by retired HC judge Justice Miftah Uddin Choudhury, has been directed to submit its report within four months, according to media reports.
The bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder Mahmudur Raz issued the order on Thursday following a petition filed by 10 Supreme Court lawyers on September 10.
The 10 lawyers who filed the petition are Md Rezaul Islam, Al Reza Md Amir, Md Golam Kibria, Md Harun, Md Belayet Hossain Soza, Kamrul Islam Regan, Hasan Mahmud Khan, Shahinur Rahman Shaheen, Md Ismail Hossain and Md Zillur Rahman.
