Health Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen emphasised the government’s commitment to reducing the number of caesarean operations in childbirth across Bangladesh.
He made this statement on Thursday during a World Population Day 2024 event at the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall, reports UNB.
“I urge those working in rural areas to convince pregnant mothers of the importance of proper health check-ups. Regular and timely check-ups at community clinics and upazila health complexes are essential. We aim to reduce the number of caesarean operations,” said the Health Minister.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Sen shared his observations from visits to health complexes nationwide, where he inquired about caesarean operation rates.
“If we identify the root causes and address them early on, we can significantly reduce the number of caesarean deliveries,” he added.
