The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has unveiled the publication of its health bulletin book with the aim to provide updated healthcare and service information details to picture the healthcare situation.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated the bulletin book as the chief guest on Sunday, while, Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Howlader, secretary of the health services division, and Md Azizur Rahman, secretary of the medical education, were present as the special guests.
Dr ABM Khurshid Alam, director general of the Directorate General of the Health Services (DGHS), chaired the event.
The health minister said some people criticized the government and service during the Covid pandemic but doctors continued to provide health service in the difficult time, they didn’t leave the scene. Therefore, they, doctors, deserved appreciation for their role in the critical time.
“We have to face challenges, including oppose to establish Covid specialised hospital in areas in the country but we fought to serve the people,” he added.
The English language book contains information details of over 550 hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country in the category of local and central health bulletin.
The information in a gradual manner automatically updated in the ministry online platforms and ministry websites, said the health ministry officials.
The bulletins are crucial to know the situations of local healthcare service and system, they added at a publication ceremony held at a city hotel.
The health bulletin contains more information, including the health professionals’ number against the population, health rules and rights, disease details in the country and deaths information.
