Heat wave likely to spread

Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicted that the ongoing heat wave might continue and spread in the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00am on Monday.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore and Kushtia, and it may continue and spread,” said a met office bulletin issued this morning, reports BSS.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country but rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur over Khulna and Barishal divisions and the regions of Cumilla and Noakhali.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga and Kumarkhali under Khulna Division, while today’s minimum temperature was 15.4 degree Celsius in Tetulia of Panchagarh.
