The Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicted heavy rain and thundershowers for all divisions, including Dhaka, over 24 hours starting from 9 am on Sunday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur in most places across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, with moderately heavy to very heavy falls in some areas,” said the Met Office in its latest update.
Panchagarh recorded the highest rainfall in the country with 182mm in the 24 hours leading up to 6 am on Sunday, according to a UNB report.
Daytime temperatures may fall slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country, according to the BMD.
The highest temperature recorded was in Pabna at 35 degrees Celsius, and the lowest was in Khagrachhari at 23.8 degrees Celsius during the same period.
Additionally, a low-pressure area persists over West Bengal, India and adjoining areas. The monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over the north Bay.
