High alert issued along Bangladesh-India border

A high alert has been issued along the Bangladesh-India border in the wake of Sheikh Hasina's resignation as Bangladesh's Prime Minister amid fierce anti-government protests.

Hasina, along with her sister, landed in India's northeastern city of Agartala on Monday noon after fleeing Dhaka.

According to sources, the responsibility for her security will rest with the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) .

To prevent any illegal entry across the border, additional BSF personnel have been deployed.
