The 'Hindu Jagoron Manch' blocked the Shahbag intersection in Dhaka on Friday, protesting against alleged atrocities on Hindus, including torture, the destruction of houses and temples, and arson attacks on properties and land.

The group put forward four demands during the demonstration: the immediate implementation of an eight-point demand; a judicial investigation into all attacks between August 5 and 20 for fair trials; prosecution of recent attacks on minorities in Thakurgaon, Chittagong, and other areas; and adequate security for the upcoming Durga Puja.

Pradeep Kanti Dey, coordinator of the Hindu Jagoron Manch, said, "If the government cannot provide security to the Hindu community, then tell us, and we will seek security from the United Nations. We urge the interim government to meet these demands. If not, in the future, Bangladesh Hindu Jagoron Manch will be compelled to coordinate with other organisations to take strict action."
