Education authorities have announced that the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams in May-June next year will be held with the full syllabus, duration and marks.
Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haidar, exam controller of the Dhaka board and convener of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee, said on Saturday afternoon that the NCTB had issued a letter to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
“We published that letter on Saturday,” he said.
The NCTB sent this directive to the coordination committee on Jun 23, asking the coordination committee to inform all education boards and institutions accordingly.
Two days later, on Jun 25, Prof Robiul Kabir Chowdhury, acting chairman of the NCTB, told bdnews24.com: “We issued the directive to clarify that the 2026 HSC and equivalent exams will be held with full syllabus, full time and full marks.
“There is no special situation now. Naturally, the exams will be held on that basis. But as principals and parents repeatedly asked us about it, we issued a formal instruction.”
The HSC and equivalent exams were cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. From 2021, they have been held on shortened syllabuses, including the current year’s exams.
