The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published on Thursday, showing a sharp decline in both the pass rate and the number of top scorers compared to the previous year.
This year, 69,097 students achieved the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5), a significant drop from 145,911 students in 2024 — marking a decline of 76,814 students, according to a UNB report.
The overall pass rate stood at 58.83 per cent, a 19 percentage point decrease from last year, marking the lowest rate in a decade.
The results were formally announced on Thursday morning by Prof Dr Khondokar Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
