iDEA holds startup programme in Mymensingh

The Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project of Bangladesh Computer Council under the ICT Division has organised a four-day incubation programme in Mymensingh, aimed at building and expanding the startup community.

The four-day event, started on Sunday, will continue till March 17, 2021, at the Bhasha Shahid Abdul Jabbar auditorium Zilla Parishad Mymensingh.

As a result of this mentoring programmme, growing startups of Mymensingh Division are getting the opportunity to participate in the free mentoring programme. Around 60 young innovators from 30 startups selected from the applications took part in the event.

State Minister of Cultural Affairs  KM Khalid was present as the chief guest at the inaugural programme of incubation programme.

He urged the youth to be patient and move forward on the path of success. As the guest of honour, Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Prof Dr Lutful Hasan was present at the function.

At the same time, NM Zeaul Alam PAA, senior secretary of the ICT Division, joined the event online.

Besides, Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Md Kamrul Hasan NDC, iDEA Project Director and Additional Secretary Syed Mojibul Huq and Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of iDEA Project Kazi Hosna Ara, were present as the special guests at the event.

Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mohammad Enamul Haque presided over the programme.

The four-day mentoring programme includes different topics including design challenges, pitch decks, ways to solve several challenges related to startups.

This incubation programme will play an important role in shaping the startup ecosystem in the Mymensingh Division of Bangladesh. It is to be noted that such initiatives will play a significant role in making the local entrepreneurs more efficient in the future.

Md Mukhlesur Rahman Mamun, President of Mymensingh Startup and Mymensingh District Administration, are working in collaboration with the programme.
