The Chief Advisor's Office has said the bodies identified from the Bangladesh Air Force aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Diabari will be handed over to families without delay.

Bodies that cannot be identified immediately will undergo DNA testing before being handed over.

The CAO shared this development in a statement on Monday, which also mentioned that Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus is monitoring the treatment of the injured around the clock.

He requested the public not to crowd the hospital premises to ensure uninterrupted medical services.

At least 19 people died in the plane crash, with more than 150 students injured or burnt, reports bdnews24.com.

The injured have been taken to different hospitals, including the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital, Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, Uttara Women’s Medical College Hospital, Mansur Ali Medical College, and Kurmitola General Hospital.

The government has declared a state day of mourning for Tuesday in memory of those affected by the crash.

A statement from the CAO on Monday said the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions and educational institutions across the country.

It will also fly at half-mast at all government, private buildings, as well as Bangladeshi missions abroad.

Special prayers will be organised at all places of religious worship in the country for the injured and the dead.

A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff on Monday at 1:06pm, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The aircraft caught fire immediately after the crash, prompting eight Fire Service units to rush to the scene to douse the flames.

The ISPR says the Air Force has formed a high-level probe committee to determine the cause of the accident. Details will be disclosed following the investigation.
