Illegally imported medicines seized at Shahjalal Airport

Customs Intelligence officials on Sunday seized a consignment of illegally imported medicines worth Tk 10 million at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Director General Dr Shahidul Islam said Jamal, a passenger, arrived at the airport by a flight TK-0712 from Egypt around 5:00am.

When Jamal was trying to cross the green zone of the airport, the CIID team intercepted him and recovered the medicines from his two luggage.

The sized medicines included Duphaston-12,000 pieces, Mixtard-2000 pieces, Neoral 25 mg-15000 pieces, Neoral 50 mg-2000 pieces and Novo Rapid-250 pieces.

Later, the customs officials seized the passport of Jamal, reports UNB.
