IMCAB mourns death of renowned journalist Hasan Shahriar

Indian Media Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (IMCAB) has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Hasan Shahriar, a well-known journalist and former president of the National Press Club.

In a statement on Saturday, IMCAB President Basudeb Dhar and General Secretary Masum Billah conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.

In a joint statement, they said Hasan Shahriar, who was a member of  IMCAB, is one of those who have contributed to the development of healthy and objective journalism in this country.

His death was an irreparable loss to the world of journalism. We seek the forgiveness of his spirit. We express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, they mentioend.

He died at Impulse Hospital in the capital around 11:30 am on Saturday (April 10). Hasan Shahriar was admitted to Impulse Hospital in the capital on Thursday (April 08) when his condition deteriorated.  

He had coronary symptoms. When the corona was tested, the report was negative. He had been suffering from various complex diseases including lung infections for a long time.
