India’s national security adviser makes unannounced visit to Dhaka

Ajit Kumar Doval, the national security adviser of India, made a brief visit to Bangladesh recently, according to Times of India.

Citing sources, the Indian English-language daily newspaper on Tuesday said Ajit Doval called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka during the unannounced visit.

Security related issues, including the situation in Myanmar, figured on Ajit Doval’s engagement in Dhaka during the first high-level visit from India to Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina’s fourth consecutive win, the newspaper said.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud is expected to reach India on Tuesday on a three-day visit.
