Indo-BD ties aim at benefiting people of both countries: Verma

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pranay Verma has said the main goal of the bilateral ties between India and Bangladesh is to benefit the people of the two countries.
Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad, attended the event as the chief guest.
Addressing the programme, organised to mark the 75th Republican Day of India in Dhaka on Wednesday, Mr Verma said that the ties between the two countries based on shared interest and shared prosperity.
“Terming India the biggest development partner of Bangladesh, he said under the leadership of the two prime ministers, the ties between the two neighbouring countries will be further strengthened in the coming days,” he said.
The liberation war in Bangladesh remains the bedrock of the bilateral ties, he added.
