The Inqibal Moncho platform has withdrawn its blockade of the Shah Amanat Bridge in Chattogram after three and a half hours of demonstrations.
The platform’s activists had obstructed the bridge around 2:00 pm on Sunday, demanding the arrest and trial of the killers of their slain leader Sharif Osman bin Hadi.
They cleared the bridge around 5:30pm, leading to the resumption of traffic movement between Chattogram and other districts, including Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban.
The blockade was held as part of a protest announced for divisional cities across Bangladesh by the Inqilab Moncho.
Inqilab Moncho’s Chattogram Convenor Rafsan Rakib said they will continue demonstrating in the coming days as announced by the platform’s central committee.
