Inqilab Moncho members have taken a “Shaheedi oath”, a solemn pledge for martyrdom, vowing to complete the trial of Sharif Osman bin Hadi’s killing within 30 working days and to rebuild Bangladesh on the basis of justice.

The oath was administered at Shahbagh around 3:30pm on Tuesday by Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Moncho.

On Monday, Inqilab Moncho placed a three-point demand, including the completion of the trial within a maximum of 30 working days through a judicial tribunal, with the involvement of professional and credible international intelligence agencies similar to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States.

Speaking on the three-point demand, Jaber said on Monday: “We have not received any specific response yet. Within the next 30 working days, the trial must be ensured through a fast-track judicial tribunal, and those involved in the killing of Hadi must be arrested and brought to justice with the assistance of international intelligence agencies who are professional and reliable.”

Inqilab Moncho said it will not hold any demonstrations on Thursday, the homecoming day for BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

“We believe that when Tarique Rahman returns home, he will also express solidarity with our movement,” Jaber said.

He added that Inqilab Moncho will announce “non-stop programmes” after Thursday.

SHAHEEDI OATH

The Shaheedi oath taken by Inqilab Moncho members swore on the “blood of Hadi”.

Members promised to fight against the conspirators and forces that seek to turn Bangladesh into a colony until their last breath.

Rejecting politics based on fear, greed, and compromise, they said no fear or temptation can force them to retreat from their mission.

“We swear that until speedy and exemplary justice is delivered for the killing of Shaheed Osman Hadi, we will remain on the streets, we will fight, we will not retreat.”

“We swear that we will build a new Bangladesh envisioned by Shaheed Osman Hadi: sovereign, dignified and based on justice.”

“A Bangladesh where rulers will be accountable to the people, where justice will be ensured, and where enforced disappearances, killings and murders will be stopped.”

The oath-taking concluded with the slogans, “Let Bangladesh be freed from subservience to New Delhi. Bangladesh Zindabad, Inqilab Zindabad.”
