The interim government, led by Prof Muhammad Yunus, is getting expanded with new faces.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new advisers will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday at Bangabhaban. President Mohammed Shahabuddin is expected to administer the oath to four or five advisers.
A press release from the Bangabhaban's press wing was issued in this regard on Thursday.
Citing sources from the Cabinet Division, several local media have reported that the new advisers likely to take the oath include economist Wahiduddin Mahmud, former Cabinet Secretary Ali Imam Majumdar, retired Lieutenant General Jahangir Alam Choudhury, and former Secretary Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan.
Earlier on August 8, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus took the oath of office as head of Bangladesh’s interim government after an uprising prompted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to step down and flee to India.
