Internet service will be temporarily disrupted in Bangladesh from Tuesday morning as maintenance work is carried out on the submarine cable, authorities say, reports bdnews24.com.
The upgrading of the country’s first submarine cable system in Cox’s Bazar is ongoing, according to Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC.
The circuits connected to this cable will be partially closed for maintenance from 2:00 am to 12:00pm on Tuesday and 2:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday.
However, circuits connected through the submarine cables laid at Kuakata will remain operational.
The authorities say the internet may be slow or could be disrupted during the upgrading work, but the bandwidth capacity of BSCPCL will expand significantly afterwards.
The BSCPCL apologised for the temporary inconvenience to its customers.
