Biman Bangladesh Airlines authority operated an international flight entirely by women crew for the first time on Friday in honor of International Women's Day.
According to a press release issued by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the pilot, first officer, cabin crew, and all ground staff involved in the flight were women.
The flight, BG-349, on the Dhaka-Dammam route departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:30 pm. All crew members were briefed by Biman's female flight briefing officers.
Captain Alia Mannan served as the pilot in command, and Fariha Tabassum was the first officer for the all-female flight, as stated in the Biman press release.
Female officers and employees at the national flag carrier perform their duties on an equal basis with male officers and employees.
