The students of the Islamic University of Kushtia blocked the Kushtia-Khulna highway on the second day of the movement to protest the reinstatement of the freedom fighter quota.

Under the banner of 'Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Islamic University', the agitators took out a procession from Shahid Minar of the campus at 11:30 am on Thursday. The movement lasted for about an hour.

The procession left the main gate of the campus and took a stand on the Kushtia-Khulna highway. A severe traffic jam occurred on the Kushtia-Jhenaidah-Jesore-Khulna road following the highway blockade.

Mokhlesur Rahman Sweet, the leader of the movement, said, "Our movement is a logical movement. The liberation war was fought to bury the discrimination; we do not want to accept the discrimination with the quota of freedom fighters. Our movement will continue until our demands are met."
