JCD suspends two over machete attack on businessman

Two central leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) have been suspended for their alleged involvement in a recent machete attack on a businessman in front of the Multiplan Center on Elephant Road in Dhaka.

Central Joint General Secretary Mohammad Hosain Mithun and Assistant General Secretary Riazul Hasan Russell will face permanent action if further investigation confirms their involvement in the attack, the JCD said in a statement on Friday.

JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir have instructed leaders and activists at all levels of the organisation to sever any ties with the suspended leaders.
