A group of students of Jahangirnagar University staged a demonstration on Saturday night demanding a ban on political activities in all residential halls.
The protest began in front of Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan’s residence around 8:45pm and ended at about 10:30pm after he assured them that their demands would be discussed at an administrative meeting on Sunday.
The protest came a day after Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal announced all 17 of its hall committees.
