A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal was shot dead on Monday evening in the capital's Mirpur Pallabi area.
The deceased was identified as Golam Kibria, member secretary of the Pallabi thana unit of Juba Dal.
The attack took place around 6:40pm behind the old Pallabi Police Station in C-Block of Mirpur Section-12, where three assailants on a motorcycle reportedly entered a hardware store and fired multiple stots at Kibria, hitting him in the head, chest and back.
Locals quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
