Kazi Salahuddin has announced that he will not seek re-election for the presidency of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
The former national footballer, who has held the BAFF president position since 2008, made the announcement at the BFF Headquarters in Dhaka city on Saturday.
“I have served four terms in this role and feel very fortunate for the opportunities I’ve had. However, I will not contest the next election. It is my final decision,” he said.
The upcoming BFF election is scheduled for October 26. There had been calls to postpone the election, a request that BFF submitted to FIFA.
However, FIFA has rejected the proposal, stating that the election cannot be delayed by even a single day.
